Key responsibilities

Own the search strategy, roadmap, quality evaluations, relevance measures, regression detection, and ranking improvements.
Operate reliable, low-latency search systems while balancing product, research, and training demand with cost.
Set search priorities, review designs, investigate relevance changes, follow up on incidents, and recruit strong engineers.
Qualifications needed

Manage engineering teams, including hiring and team growth through rapid change.
Build or operate search systems, with technical depth to review designs, read code, and engage with senior engineers.
Run high-volume production systems with latency and reliability requirements, and align product, research, and infrastructure teams.
