Key responsibilities

Design and oversee multi-step synthesis of small molecules, including route selection, reaction optimization, purification, and data analysis.
Evaluate AI-designed molecules and synthetic routes through experiments, then return results to research teams.
Apply medicinal chemistry principles, including SAR analysis and physicochemical property optimization, to design and prioritize compounds.
Coordinate external synthesis and biological testing, and maintain complete records of procedures, spectra, and failure modes.
Qualifications needed

PhD in chemistry and demonstrated medicinal chemistry experience with recent, sustained hands-on small molecule synthesis.
Experience with SAR-driven small molecule design and optimization.
Ability to work independently, define problems, and work across research teams in an evolving environment.
Preferred: Five or more years of medicinal chemistry experience beyond the PhD, including hit identification through lead optimization.
